Ithaca, Ringwood Ponds Natural Area , Edge of mixed deciduous woodland by trail, moist well drained soil, growing with witch grass (Panicum capillare) and Wood forget-me-nots (Myosotis sylvatica), 14 cm in height, upright shrub habit, leaves almost glabrous, same shade of dark green on both sides, stem of same color and rough with trichomes.
