By road along creek above Enfield Falls, 1917; large area by roadside s. w. of Pout Pond, 1885 (D. in C. U. Herb.) and 1919 (L. F. Randolph, A. J. E., & K. M. W.). Mass. to Colo., southw. to N. J., Pa., and Ohio. Adventive from Eu., or an escape from cultivation.
