CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: As Carex muricata L.: Swales about bogs and in meadows, especially on gravelly soils; scarce. June 20-July. Summit Marsh; meadow w. of Woodwardia Bog; Freeville Bog. Newf. to Wis., southw. to D.C. and N.Y., including the Coastal Plain. The form found here is var. cephalantha, not the typical form of Eu.
