CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: As C. triceps Michx., var. hirsuta (Willd.) Bailey. Damp or dry sandy, gravelly, or stony, neutral or somewhat acid, soils; scarce. June. The narrows between Slaterville and Caroline Center; near South Hill Marsh (D. !); Bald Hill, Ithaca; near Bear Swamp (form, D.) ; Esty Glen; near Ludlowville (H. B. Lord); Utt Point. Me. to s. Ont. and Mich., southw. to Fla. and Tex. Primarily a coastal plant, extending inland around the Great Lakes.
