The common form, occurring in the larger marshes and along our ponds and lakes (D.); sphagnum meadows along creek above Enfield Falls; Slaterville Swamp; Freeville; McLean Bogs (D.); Chicago Bog; Ludlowville; Canoga Marshes (D.); Lake Como. Newf. and Lab. to Sask. and B.C., southw. to Conn., N.Y., Ill.., Utah, and Calif.; rare on the Atlantic Coastal Plain.
