 southwest of Ithaca, along Culver Road, at edge of hillside woods, Tree. Bark strongly ridged, starting to break away in longitudinal strips to a small extent. Leaves yellow and starting to fall at this time. Nuts, sweet and edible, 17 Oct 1971, Dress 7906 (BH 15720);
