Herb.); swampy woods n. of Freeville (D.); lake shore ravines (D.); ravine near Elm Beach, Romulus. N. S. and Vt. to B. C, southw. to Fla., Tex., and Mex.; infrequent on the Atlantic Coastal Plain. A plant of the rich soils of the interior.
