CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: A weed in dry grassy fields and waste places, along roadsides, and in creek beds, in run- out noncalcareous soils of sand, gravel, or even heavy clay; common. June-Sept. Native of Eurasia; widely distributed in nearly all parts of N.A. A serious pest in hayfields. The garden carrot is an improved form of this species.
