CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: Open moist or wet situations ; more abundant than the preceding. July-Aug. Newf. to Sask., southw. to Fla. and Nebr. More tolerant of acid soils, and more frequent on the Coastal Plain, than the preceding species. Plants with salmon-pink corolla and deeper spots are occasional (forma Peasei A. H. Moore, Rhodora 19: 116. 1917).
