CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: Springy and boggy calcareous meadows, rarely on wet rocks ; frequent. May 15- June. Headwaters of Cayuga Inlet ; Spencer ; Larch Meadow ; Six Mile Creek ; Fall Creek ; Mud Creek, Freeville ; McLean Bogs ; Westbury Bog ; and elsewhere. The species occurs on wet rocks at Beebe Lake and Six Mile Creek. Newf. to Wis., southw. to Fla., Mo., and Tex. ; frequent along the coast. Though all of the above-named stations are in marly meadows or on limy rocks, the plant is by no means confined to calcareous soil in N. E. and in the coastal regions.
