CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: Dry gravelly or sandy sterile fields, mostly in noncalcareous soils; common. Aug. 20-Sept. Generally distributed throughout the basin, but most abundant in the chestnut soils of the higher hills and along the shores of Cayuga Lake. P. E. I. to Sask., southw. to Fla., Tex., and Ariz. ; common along the coast.
